It's safe to say we are all a fan of something. Whether it be a celebrity, a book, a tv show. We all have something or someone in our lives we enjoy watching or reading about.
I personally collect fandoms like treasures. I am a enthusiast of many, many shows, books, and movies.
That sentence sounds really weird to someone who may not particularly be involved in an active fandom, but to someone who is it seems perfectly normal to obsess.
My first fandom was Harry Potter, I was ten, and convinced that I would be receiving a Hogwarts letter the following year. I was the weird little girl who wanted to play wizards instead of Barbie's, and who would rather read than do to the school dance. (I went anyway here is the terrifying photo proof.)
Right now I am obsessed with Supernatural. I even met the guy who plays my favorite character Castiel last year.
Fandoms are a big part of my life. I have met some great people through fandoms and some of them have become amazing friends I hope I keep for life.
The fandoms and the people within them that I have encountered have been great for the most part. They can be the kindest, most uplifting people put there. But we all know there can be trolls as well. If any of you trolls are reading this then curse you trolls. You make my bitter, grumpy side come out.
The best part about fandoms other than the people to me though, is the fanfiction. I love fanfiction so so much. it makes my heart sing. I've always said I want to review fanfictions like some people do books so if that would interest you please leave me a comment.
